The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja yesterday 9th of December 2014 gave the people of Kebbi, Tambuwal's Federal Constituency of Sokoto State, the right to challenge its decision barring them from being joined as defendants in the case.
The constituents are opposed to Aminu Tambuwal’s removal as Speaker and declaration of his seat vacant, arguing that removing him would deprive them of representation in the House of Reps
The constituents, in their appeal, are contending that the trial judge was wrong in refusing to join them as parties in the case.
The green light to challenge the high court ruling came on a day Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal urged the court to dismiss the application by the constituents seeking to stay proceedings in the case.
Tambuwal through his counsel, Chief Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), had invited the court to hold that the notice of appeal pending before the Court of Appeal was incompetent thereby robbing the court of jurisdiction to entertain their application for stay of proceedings in the matter
