APC AND BUHARY THRIVES IN LIES...YINKA ODUMAKIN(FORMER SPOKESMAN OF GEN. BUHARY RTD)

Image result for photos of Yinka Odumakin
Mr. Yinka Odumakin, the former spokesman of (APC) Presidential Candiadate, Muhammadu buhari, has said that the main opposition party, APC thrives on lies and has spent a lot of money on propaganda
to deceive Nigerians.
Odumakin stated that the APC has exploited the media and propaganda to bewitch Nigerians. He urged Nigerians to think deeply and reflect on the antecedents of APC leaders, adding that prominent chieftains of the party were at one time or the other key stakeholders in the PDP.

He said, "Tambuwal is PDP speaker, governorship candidate in Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, was PDP speaker. The man they are propping up to be Senate President, Bukola Saraki, was a PDP governor for eight years and senator for four years before they form New PDP. Rotimi Amaechi, was PDP speaker for eight years. Even Obasanjo, their navigator was PDP president for eight years. Same for Segun Oni, Oyinlola, El-Rufai and many others."
"Today, if APC says they can make a chicken to fly like an eagle, many Nigerians will believe them because APC has the media capacity to do that. They have mastered the strategy of propaganda to colour the thinking of our people".

INSURGENCY!!! GOVERNOR'S OF STATES AFFECTED BY BOKO HARAM ASKS FOR MORE TROOPS BEFORE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

Soldiers cordon off a road leading to the scene of a blast at a business district in Abuja

ABUJA (Reuters) - Facing an increasingly violent Islamist insurgency, governors from three states in northeast Nigeria asked President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday to deploy extra troops to secure their regions before next month's presidential election.

With less than six weeks to go before the polls, officials are concerned the northeast may be so destabilised by Boko Haram militants that millions of people are prevented from voting in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa, the worst affected of Nigeria's 36 states.

"We need more troops. The troops on the ground we have in our various states are not enough," Yobe state governor Ibrahim Gaidem told journalists at the presidential villa after meeting with Jonathan. "We appealed to the president to deploy additional troops with full equipment to tame the situation."

The presidency was not immediately available to comment, but a presidential source told Reuters Jonathan had accepted the request in principle. The source did not give further details.

Security will be a major election issue in the country with the biggest economy and population in Africa. The electoral commission says more than a million Nigerians displaced by the Islamist insurgency in the northeast may not be able to vote on Feb. 14 unless the law is changed to enable them to do so away from their home regions.

Parliament is considering such a law. Jonathan's main opponent is Muhammadu Buhari, a Muslim from the north who, as a former military leader, is seen as tough on security.

The five-year-old insurgency, which is trying to revive a medieval Islamic caliphate, has killed thousands of people and uprooted more than a million. The militants have also kidnapped hundreds of children: 200 girls snatched from a school in the village of Chibok last April remain missing.

The military seems ill-equipped and overstretched against a determined foe. Boko Haram killed dozens of civilians and at least 11 soldiers when it took control of a Nigerian town and army base on the shores of Lake Chad, at the borders with Chad and Cameroon, at the weekend.

Refugees aside, it may be too insecure in some parts of the northeast to hold an election at all, officials say, and many foreign observers will not get security clearance to go up there.

But the governors of the three states under a military state of emergency were confident the polls would happen everywhere.

Gaidem said "Definitely in all those areas where the insurgency exist, elections will hold,"

BABANGIDA DID NOT ACTUALLY BACK GEJ

Nigeria’s former military ruler, Ibrahim Babangida, did not make commitment on the 2015 presidential poll to President Goodluck Jonathan at the recent meeting in Minna.

Ibrahim Babangida

Ibrahim Babangida
It would be recalled that following the closed-door December 27 meeting it was reported that Babangida urged Nigerians to support Jonathan in the next-year’s elections.
According to The Nation, however, contrary to the widespread insinuations, the former President only touched upon the national issues and problems.
It was additionally learnt that Jonathan allegedly started reaching out to key emirs and leaders of the North is search for support, which is part of the President’s plan to reduce the influence of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the region.
Gen. Babangida’s key aides based in Abuja disclosed the details of the Saturday’s meeting in Minna.

“It is true that the President visited Gen. Babangida at his Minna Hilltop mansion but the nature of his message was based purely on unity of the country and not about 2015 presidential election.
After the former ruler was blasted for backing Jonathan, the source, who pleaded for anonymity, debunked the reports making rounds:
“As a former president who fought for the unity of the country, he was of the view that the president needs support as President and not as presidential candidate per se.
“It is his view that the country needs to be united as one before we can begin to talk about election. Only a united Nigeria can guarantee credible election.”
The source stressed the importance of not misinterpreting Babangida’s words:
“What Gen. IBB said should be viewed within the context of the larger Nigeria interest and not that of any parochial interest that is likely to unsettle the system.

“Those of them who fought in the civil war to keep the country one understand the dynamics and challenges facing us now in the face of grave insecurity and poor economic realities.”
The aide also urged critics to take it easy on Babangida, who is anyway the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) card holder, “even as a nominal member”.
“As a leader and former president who was privileged to preside over the affairs of the country and who also fought in the civil war, he will continue to speak the language of unification than that of division.”
According to the source, Gen. Babangida maintained that Jonathan, as a country leader, deserved the support of all to keep the country united.
Regarding the main political battle between Jonathan and the APC candidate Muhammadu Buhari, the aide said:
“The President, Vice-President Namadi Sambo, PDP governors, and leaders will be embarking on shuttles to some of these key Northern leaders for support.

“They are desperate to take the battle to Buhari’s stronghold but no one can say whether the President and the PDP can go far or not.”
Speaking about the intense pre-polls months, another source also added:
“Jonathan’s game plan is to split the North. This explains why Northern leaders were concerned about the President’s renewed interest in the North after he failed the region in many promises he made in 2011.”

It would be recalled that yesterday President Jonathan addressed Nigerians asking them to endure the hardships connected with the drop on global oil price and to pray for the politicians’ wisdom ahead of the upcoming elections.

GOV. OSHIOMHOLE: LARGE SUM OF MONEY IS BEING STOLEN IN THE NAME OF SUBSIDY.

While speaking with the delegates from Association of Enigie's (Edo South), Gov. Adams Aliu Oshiomhole of Edo State, lamented about the distortion of developmental projects of the State government  as a result of the inability of the Federal government to share excess crude account for the past 18month, in continued and said despite this fact,  the account is empty. Sometimes we are told they have taken money from it to fund subsidies including subsidy on kerosene. But your royal highnesses,

988968_10152980437587628_3431575685410744039_n
There is nowhere in your various domains kerosene is sold for N50, so in the name of subsidy, large sums of money is being stolen.
“Things are tough now around the country because the Federal Government mismanaged our national resources and what is being stolen, nobody agrees it is being stolen. What is arguable is who is responsible for this stealing. When the Federal Government and the President talk about oil theft and the amount that is allegedly stolen is huge such that whereas we have the capacity to produce about 2.4 million barrels a day, what accrues into the federal government account is less than 1.8 million barrel a day.
“From the last time we had a meeting, the handouts they distributed shows that sometime for a period of two weeks, we were losing as much as 700,000 barrels a day and that has been on for the past twelve years. I am not able to understand why, suddenly, Nigeria cannot protect its territorial waters because the boundaries have not changed and the people are still the same and at the peak of the so-called militancy, we were still exporting about 2 million barrels a day.
“Then how can we explain that after we have resolved the issue of militancy in the Niger Delta, we have rehabilitated the ex-militants and even awarded contracts to them, that we are losing as much crude oil as that to oil thieves and to the best of my knowledge, there is no major known person who has been prosecuted and convicted for oil theft in a way that reflects the magnitude of what is allegedly stolen
“What this means is that our budgets have not performed over the past 3 years whereas the budgets have been based on an average of between $77 to $78 and $79 a barrel. The average price of Nigeria’s sweet crude has been around $108 per barrel. That gives a surplus of over $30. Ideally, we ought to be saving $36 per barrel and 2.3 million barrel a day over the past three years and if you look at these numbers you will find that what we have in our excess crude oil account should be over $30billion but as we speak, we have barely $3 billon in our excess crude account.
“Now oil price has dropped to $60 and because we have not saved, the naira is undergoing devaluation. Already as low as N180 per dollar and I believe by February when the elections are over, nobody is going to want to hold the naira. Wherever the election goes, I expect that the naira will hit over N200 per dollar. The inflationary consequence of that is prices of everything will go up and part of the vicious cycle of the devalued naira in the manner that is being done is that the price of petroleum products imported in dollars will go up in naira and government will be asking people who are already poor to pay more money for petroleum products.
“I see this vicious cycle setting in and people are likely to get poorer and that will lead to more tension and we already have our fair share of insecurity.”
He urged the royal fathers to pray for Nigeria, saying “the year that is coming is going to be a very tough one. Pray for Nigeria, 2015 will be tough”.
On the ongoing projects in the state, the Governor said the Central Hospital complex will be completed and ready for use by August next year, while contractors will be mobilized to site on the 2nd East Circular road in the new year. Also, the Governor said 16 roads have been identified in the GRA for immediate rehabilation and contractors have already bid for the projects, saying the roads will be completely fixed in the first half of next year.
He said, “It’s not that government is unwilling to work on roads in GRA but because of the lean financial resources.”
Responding, the Ogiegbaen of Egbaen commended the governor for the achievements recorded so far by his administration. He pledged that the Enigies will continue to support his government with prayers and advice to enable him succeed.

INSURGENCY - Ali Modu-Sheriff Reveals All He Knows About Boko Haram

Senator Ali Modu Sheriff

Ali Modu Sheriff, the former Borno State governor while speaking with the BBC Hausa service magazine programme (Gane Mini Hanya) talked about what he knows about the Boko Haram Sect, saying only the Republic of Chad could help solve the insurgency problem.

He denied the reports that Haram began during his tenure as governor of Borno, he said the terrorists began in Yobe in 1992, and that he had been working around a solution, including talking to the Chadian government.

He also said “Nothing preoccupies his mind in Nigeria presently like the return of peace in Borno. When Borno State was peaceful, there was no place I cherished to stay in the world like Maiduguri. I, my friends, my confidants, my parents and all the schools I attended are in Maiduguri.

“Therefore, I am more concerned than anybody in this country, because what Borno State did for me has not been done to any other indigene. You know, in Borno State, a governor has never been re-elected apart from me; in Borno State, no senator has ever been elected thrice apart from me. So, Borno people have done everything for me, and there is no one in this world that I know other than Chad, which I think could help Borno,” he said.
