The three policemen whose appear below have been jailed for two years, after which they will also serve a six months community service because they jumped at free food while on duty.
Sergeant Felix Okwa(47) years old.
Corporal Ogu Romanus is (46).
Constable Sunday Okoh is (34).
The Policemen attached to the Isashi Police Division of the Lagos State Police Command, were on Wednesday sentenced by Magistrate A. Demi-Ajayi of an Ebute-Metta Magistrate's Court in Oyingbo, Lagos State.
The Story
While on patrol at 11:30pm, the policemen received a call from someone called Kezzy, who invited them for supper at Regional Hotel in Ishashi, saying he felt like 'rewarding' them for a job they did for him.
They arrived, supped with him, unknown to them, the food was drugged. The three policemen fell asleep after eating, and their weapons three AK-47 rifles and 90 live ammunition were stolen.
The hotel manager reported at the Ishashi Police Station and the unconscious policemen were arrested and taken to court.
