This act and relationship of the Animal Behaviorist Kelvin Richards with these prides has caused lot of arguments as a result there were so much views on wither this was risky or not.
It was latter told that Kevin Richards actually saved the oldest lions when they were tiny cubs. He has built a solid relationship with these magnificent creatures based in respect, trust and obviously love that has last many, many years.
And if u pay attention at the beginning of the video when Kevin lift his leg as a warning to the younger adult lion that doesn't appear to have a relationship with Kevin as close as the ones that he is greeting, you will notice something truly amazing, and beautiful: the white lion in the back is very clearly monitoring the aggressive one to whom Kevin lifts his leg as a warning to stay away.
And as soon as Kevin gives his back to the aggressive one, which immediately adopts a predatory movement, the white lion moves so fast to the front and confronts the aggressive one, like saying "don't u dare". And the moment the aggressive one changes his posture, the white lion relaxes and caresses the formerly aggressive one. He was protecting Kevin.
